Introduction to the "Thermal Method" Process for Zicheng Phosphate
Polyphosphoric acid: Zicheng employs a "one-step method" to produce polyphosphoric acid: When the phosphoric acid concentration reaches 95%, a polymerization reaction begins, driven by pentoxide of phosphorus gas generated from the combustion of yellow phosphorus. This gas is continuously recycled and absorbed to boost the concentration further into highly concentrated polyphosphoric acid. Unlike the "two-step method," which relies on adding dry pentoxide of phosphorus powder to low-concentration phosphoric acid to increase its strength, Zicheng’s "one-step method" yields a polyphosphoric acid product with significantly higher polymer content and superior stability, along with excellent flow properties.
Orthophosphoric acid: Zhi Cheng uses a "two-step method" to produce orthophosphoric acid: Phosphoric acid with a concentration below 95% is referred to as "orthophosphoric acid." During production, the yellow phosphorus combustion tower and the absorption tower operate separately. In the first step, yellow phosphorus is burned in the first tower, and in the second step, the phosphorus pentoxide gas generated from the combustion is drawn into the second tower for absorption. This process continues in a循环 until the desired concentration is achieved—hence the name "two-step method." This method yields phosphoric acid with low impurity levels and high product purity.
